The United States, Israel, and Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), creating a temporary pause in tensions. Experts say the deal is not a final peace agreement, but it opens a door for diplomacy.
Georgetown University Adjunct Professor Ali Vaez discussed the MOU on Bloomberg This Weekend. He expressed cautious optimism about the agreement. Vaez noted that a full deal within the 60-day timeframe is unlikely. However, the MOU allows for that period to be extended.
Vaez called the document a "starting place." It gives all three nations breathing room to negotiate without immediate military escalation. The agreement does not resolve core disputes, but it prevents a crisis from worsening in the short term.
