U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi are heading to Switzerland for talks, according to Axios. The meeting comes as a ceasefire in Lebanon appears to revive efforts to turn an interim Iran war pact into a lasting regional agreement.
Switzerland continues to provide a “discreet and reliable setting” at Burgenstock to facilitate discussions on implementing a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, the Swiss foreign ministry said Saturday.
The talks aim to build on an interim deal that has paused hostilities. No further details on the agenda or expected outcomes were released.
