A Turkish opposition lawmaker has formally questioned the Family and Social Services Minister over serious allegations of abuse at a private care center for disabled individuals in Batman. The claims include sexual assault, torture, mistreatment, and suspicious deaths.
DEM Party deputy Zeynep Oduncu Kutevi submitted a parliamentary question to Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş. The inquiry focuses on the Özel Batman Şifa Bakım Merkezi, a private care facility. Kutevi demanded answers about the reported incidents and what actions the ministry has taken.
The allegations, if proven, would represent a severe failure in protecting vulnerable residents. No official statement from the ministry has been released yet. The case raises urgent questions about oversight at private care homes for people with disabilities.
