The European Union has condemned Russia’s attack on an ancient monastery in Kyiv as a war crime. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced the accusation on day 1,573 of the conflict. She also unveiled a new sanctions package targeting 34 individuals and 47 entities. The list includes two Chinese companies that supply components for drones. The strike involved 681 weapons, making it one of the largest assaults on the Ukrainian capital.
