US President Donald Trump on Tuesday urged Russia to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, following what he called a “very good” meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in France.
Speaking at the lakeside resort of Evian-les-Bains, Trump said he would do everything he could to end the war. He arrived at the summit carrying a preliminary deal to end the conflict with Iran and said he now wants to focus on finishing the war in Ukraine.
Trump praised his meeting with Zelensky but did not provide details on any new proposals. The G7 summit brings together leaders from the world’s seven largest advanced economies.
