Russia may soon have more tanks than it did before the war. But there is a catch: it cannot use them. To rebuild its fleet, Moscow has revived old Soviet engines that were previously considered unrecoverable. However, the drones that destroyed the original tanks have not gone away. These unmanned aerial vehicles continue to patrol the battlefield, ready to strike any new tank that moves. As a result, Russia’s growing stockpile of armor remains largely idle, unable to operate safely under the constant threat of drone attacks.
