Ukraine to Arm Latvia with Strike Drones and Ground Robots
Latvia will receive strike drones, ground robots, and naval systems from Ukraine under a new bilateral defense deal. The agreement, announced by the two countries' defense ministers, establishes a two-way flow of drone technology and military equipment between Kyiv and the NATO ally. Ukraine, which has developed advanced unmanned systems during its war with Russia, will supply Latvia with combat-tested drones and autonomous ground vehicles. In return, Latvia will provide Ukraine with additional military support and technical cooperation. The deal strengthens Latvia's defense capabilities while giving Ukraine access to allied resources. The announcement signals deepening military integration between Ukraine and NATO members on its eastern flank. Latvia, a Baltic nation bordering Russia, has been one of Ukraine's strongest supporters since the 2022 invasion. The drone deal is expected to accelerate Latvia's adoption of modern, cost-effective unmanned warfare systems.
