Berlin's famous Pergamon Museum is currently closed for a major, multi-year renovation. However, officials have released new details about the treasures awaiting visitors when a key wing reopens in 2027. The museum houses monumental archaeological reconstructions. Its most famous exhibit is the Pergamon Altar, a massive structure from ancient Greece. Other highlights include the Roman Market Gate of Miletus and the Ishtar Gate from ancient Babylon. These large-scale exhibits are undergoing careful conservation during the closure. The renovation aims to modernize the building and update the presentation of the collections. The partial reopening in 2027 will allow the public to see these restored wonders again. The full museum complex will remain under construction until later in the 2030s.
