Iran’s foreign minister said a deal with the United States is nearly finished, hours after President Donald Trump dismissed the Iranian account of the draft agreement as false.
Abbas Araghchi claimed on Tuesday that a draft deal to end the US-Israeli war on Iran “has never been closer” to completion. He did not provide details of the proposed terms.
Trump later rejected the Iranian version, saying it bore “no relation to the truth” and calling the account “lies.”
The conflicting statements highlight the deep mistrust between the two nations, even as both sides signal progress toward a possible agreement. No official text of any draft has been released.
