Iran and the United States have agreed on a draft deal, according to Iran’s state-run Mehr news agency, as reported by Reuters. The agreement includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, lifting sanctions, ending the US maritime blockade, and withdrawing American forces.
The agency says final negotiations focus on nuclear and economic issues, but will not cover discussions about Iran’s missile program. The draft still requires final approval from authorities.
US President Donald Trump said Friday morning that the US had ended the war with Iran and would sign an agreement over the weekend.
