A Turkish lawmaker has submitted a formal request to parliament, demanding answers about the treatment of a detainee during police custody. Deputy Tanrıkulu filed a 33-question parliamentary motion following statements made by Fatoş Pınar Türker, who alleged she faced mistreatment and threats while detained.
“Instead of denying and brushing aside these allegations, they must be fully investigated,” Tanrıkulu said. The MP stressed that all aspects of the claims should be brought to light.
The motion calls on officials to clarify the procedures followed during the detention process. It also seeks details on whether any disciplinary actions were taken against those accused of misconduct.
