Kazakhstan Rocket Launches Pitched to Hong Kong Tourists
Kazakhstan is offering Hong Kong travellers a new type of holiday attraction: space. Travel operators from the Central Asian country are promoting rocket launches as a tourist experience at Hong Kong’s flagship travel expo. Six Kazakhstan-based companies set up booths under the theme “Visit Almaty” at the 40th International Travel Expo. The event runs from June 11 to 14 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The operators are making their debut at the expo ahead of new direct flights between Hong Kong and Kazakhstan. The rocket launches, which take place at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, are being pitched as a unique draw for adventure-seeking travellers. Despite the conflict in the Middle East affecting global tourism, the 2026 edition of the expo is expected to highlight this new offering.
