US-Israel split exposed by Iran’s new war strategy
Iran is pushing a new military strategy that is driving a wedge between the United States and Israel. The strategy, called the “unity of the theatres,” aims to coordinate attacks from Iran’s allied groups in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq. Tehran believes it can emerge from the current conflict stronger than before. Instead of fighting alone, Iran is using its network of allies—known as the Axis of Resistance—to strike at multiple fronts at once. This approach has changed the dynamics of the recent escalation. When Israel or the US tries to strike one of these allied groups, another group immediately responds from a different region. This makes it harder for the US-Israel alliance to contain the conflict. The growing confidence in Tehran is exposing a rift between Washington and Jerusalem. The US wants to avoid a wider war, while Israel is pushing for more aggressive action. Iran’s strategy is forcing both allies to reconsider their next moves.
