Trump Presents Kennedy Center Honors in Oval Office Ceremony

President Donald Trump awarded the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors to a group of performing artists in a ceremony on Monday. The event took place in the Oval Office. The Kennedy Center Honors recognize lifetime achievements in the arts. Recipients receive a distinctive ribboned medal for their contributions to American culture. Traditionally, a large, televised gala at the Kennedy Center follows the medal ceremony. This year’s honorees will be celebrated at that event later in the season. The White House presentation maintains the presidential tradition of personally congratulating the artists. The ceremony highlights the national importance of the arts.
