A drone attack struck a kindergarten in Sudan's South Kordofan state on Thursday, killing at least 50 people.
The strike hit the town of El-Fula during daytime hours. Local reports indicate the victims were primarily children and caregivers.
Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) claimed responsibility for the operation. The paramilitary group stated it targeted a rival militia camp sharing the location.
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which is fighting the RSF for national control, condemned the attack. It called the incident a "massacre" against civilians.
This event marks one of the deadliest single attacks since the civil war began over a year ago. The conflict has caused widespread displacement and a severe humanitarian crisis.
Neither side has provided independent verification of the casualty figures. International bodies have repeatedly called for a ceasefire and condemned attacks on civilian infrastructure.
