A federal judge has refused to block the Department of Justice’s “anti-weaponization fund,” but issued a sharp warning to the agency. The fund, which aims to prevent the misuse of law enforcement powers, had been challenged in court.
The judge noted that Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche had already promised not to move forward with the fund. However, the judge cautioned the DOJ not to “play possum,” meaning they should not pretend to comply while secretly acting otherwise.
The ruling does not halt the fund, but the judge made clear that any deceptive behavior would not be tolerated. The case remains under watch.
