Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly met with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair earlier this year to discuss plans for Gaza after the current conflict, according to a new report. The meeting focused on "day after" scenarios for the Palestinian territory.
The private discussion took place in Jerusalem in late January. Blair, who serves as the Quartet Representative for the Middle East, a diplomatic role focused on Palestinian development, has been involved in regional mediation for years.
Netanyahu’s office has declined to comment on the meeting’s content. Blair’s team has not publicly addressed the report.
The secret talks highlight the behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts to plan for Gaza's future governance and reconstruction. These plans remain a point of major international debate and disagreement.
