EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has called Washington the bloc's "biggest ally." She made the statement on Saturday in response to a new U.S. National Security Strategy report.
The U.S. strategy document strongly criticizes European immigration policies. It warns that Europe faces "civilisational erasure," meaning a loss of its traditional cultural identity, due to these policies.
The same U.S. strategy also calls for America to aggressively maintain its dominance in the Western Hemisphere. Kallas did not address this point directly.
Instead, she focused on the enduring partnership. Her comments underscore the EU's effort to manage policy disagreements while prioritizing the strategic alliance with the United States.
