A United Nations-mandated inquiry said Tuesday that Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank are trapped between “mass atrocities” committed by Israeli forces, settlers, and the brutal rule of Hamas. The UN’s Independent International Commission of Inquiry found that civilians are being “systematically and deliberately” subjected to severe rights violations. The investigative team, which last year concluded Israel had committed “genocide” in the Gaza war, detailed the findings in a new report released this week.
