Italy's RAI Backs Israel's Eurovision Entry Amidst Protests
Italy's state broadcaster, RAI, has confirmed its support for Israel's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. This statement comes as several other European countries have withdrawn from the event in protest of Israel's military actions in Gaza. RAI also officially announced Italy's own entry for the competition. The broadcaster did not link its continued participation to the ongoing geopolitical controversy. The European Broadcasting Union, which organizes Eurovision, has previously stated that the contest is a non-political event. It has confirmed Israel's place in this year's competition, scheduled for May in Sweden.
