The U.S. National Park Service has changed its list of annual free entrance days. The new schedule adds former President Donald Trump's birthday, June 14, as a fee-free day. It removes two federal holidays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January and Juneteenth in June.
The change follows a recent announcement from the Department of the Interior. That policy will raise entrance fees for non-resident visitors at many popular national parks.
The National Park Service typically waives entrance fees on several select days each year. The stated goal is to encourage public visits. The updated 2025 schedule now includes six free days.
The other free days remain: the first day of National Park Week in April, the August anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act, National Public Lands Day in September, and Veterans Day in November.
