Ukraine regained 100 square kilometers of territory in May and inflicted $1 billion in damage on Russian forces through deep strikes, according to a statement from Ukraine’s military commander, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi. Syrskyi said Ukrainian forces hit 111 Russian military sites during the month. The losses include ammunition depots, command posts, and fuel storage facilities, disrupting supply lines and slowing Russian offensive operations. The announcement highlights Ukraine’s strategy of targeting deep behind enemy lines to degrade Russian combat capability while reclaiming territory on the front.
