A drone attack in Sudan killed at least 50 people on Thursday, a medical aid group reports. Among the dead are 33 children.
The Sudan Doctors’ Union stated the strike hit the village of Abu Hamra in Gezira state. It blamed the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, for the assault.
The RSF and the Sudanese military have been at war for over two years. This incident marks one of the deadliest single attacks on civilians in recent months.
The conflict has caused a severe humanitarian crisis, displacing millions. Both sides have repeatedly been accused of committing war crimes.
