Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has again threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, following a US attack on Iranian radar facilities. The strait is a narrow waterway in the Persian Gulf through which about 20% of the world’s oil passes. Any blockade would disrupt global energy supplies. The US military confirmed the strikes, calling them a response to recent attacks on American assets. No further details on the extent of the damage were immediately available.
