A top mediator says the current truce in Gaza will only become a complete ceasefire if Israeli forces fully withdraw. Qatar's Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, stated this condition on Saturday.
He called the situation a "critical moment." The ceasefire, now nearly two months old, cannot be finalized without a full Israeli pullout and a return of stability to Gaza, he explained.
The peace plan, which includes this withdrawal, has support from both the United States and the United Nations. Qatar has been a key mediator in negotiations between Israel and Hamas.
