Liberia's House of Representatives has called three key agencies to explain their roles following a fatal fire in Monrovia. Lawmakers summoned the heads of the National Fire Service, the National Police, and the Electricity Corporation to a hearing next Tuesday.
The officials must provide a comprehensive update on the November 14th blaze. The fire killed five people in the Duport Road community.
The parliamentary plenary session will seek details on the cause and the emergency response. The summons indicates the legislature's push for accountability and transparency in the investigation.
The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The agencies are expected to appear before the full House of Representatives.
