Plateau State has launched a new grant program for residents living with disabilities. Governor Caleb Mutfwang announced the initiative as part of a wider national social investment plan.
The program will provide a one-time business grant of 200,000 Nigerian naira to each approved beneficiary. Officials describe the funds as a "recapitalisation grant," meaning it is designed to help people restart or expand an existing small business.
Governor Mutfwang stated that the grants aim to encourage entrepreneurship and financial independence. The state government will oversee the identification and registration of eligible beneficiaries across all local districts.
