Penn State University has reportedly chosen Matt Campbell to lead its football program. Multiple news outlets say the university will hire Campbell away from Iowa State University.
Campbell would replace James Franklin, whom Penn State fired two months ago. The search for a new coach now appears to be over.
At Iowa State, Campbell built a strong reputation for developing players. He is known for a disciplined coaching style and leading teams that often exceeded expectations.
The reported move signals Penn State's intent to rebuild its program quickly. An official announcement from the university is expected soon.
