The draw ceremony for the 2026 FIFA World Cup began today in Washington, D.C. The event will determine the initial group stage matchups for the expanded 48-team tournament.
Twelve groups of four national teams each will be formed. The draw places teams into these groups based on their current FIFA world ranking and regional confederation.
