Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President's special envoy, and Jared Kushner, his senior advisor, flew to Miami for talks with Ukrainian officials. They had just returned from a meeting in Moscow. The move came after the American delegation canceled a scheduled stop in Brussels, Belgium. Brussels is the headquarters of both the European Union and NATO, the key Western alliances supporting Ukraine. By skipping Brussels, the U.S. team avoided direct, face-to-face consultations with European allies immediately following their Russia visit. The shift to a meeting on U.S. soil marks a notable change in diplomatic protocol.
