Hong Kong will increase mental health services for survivors and families of the city's deadliest fire in decades. Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced the plan as most hospitalized patients are now discharged.
The blaze at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po ten days ago killed at least 12 people. Secretary for Health Lo Chung-mau stated that all 79 people hospitalized are now medically stable.
However, officials report that some affected individuals are experiencing feelings of guilt. The enhanced support aims to address these ongoing psychological needs.
The government did not specify the exact types of new services. The announcement underscores a focus on long-term recovery following the tragedy.
