Centrist presidential candidate Salvador Nasralla has alleged fraud in Honduras's close election. He made the claim after his rival, Nasry Asfura, moved narrowly ahead in the vote count overnight.
Nasralla posted the accusation on social media on Thursday. He stated that the public results screen went blank early in the morning. When it returned, he alleged, "an algorithm changed the data" to give Asfura the lead.
Nasralla had been ahead in the count since voting ended on Tuesday. His rival, Asfura, is backed by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
The country's electoral authority is continuing to update the results. It has not yet responded to Nasralla's fraud allegation.
