Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum will hold her first in-person meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump this Friday. The leaders will meet in Washington, D.C., Sheinbaum announced at her daily press briefing on Thursday.
The brief meeting will continue negotiations on U.S. tariffs imposed on Mexican goods. Both leaders are attending the official draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the United States, Mexico, and Canada will jointly host.
President Sheinbaum also plans to meet with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during the Washington visit. The World Cup draw brings the three North American leaders together amid ongoing trade discussions.
