China stated on Wednesday it is collaborating "with all parties" to prevent a military escalation in the Caribbean. This comes as the United States increases its operations near Venezuela.
Foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian expressed Beijing's opposition to actions that violate the United Nations Charter or harm regional stability. He made the remarks when asked to comment on the ongoing crisis in Venezuela.
The statement is the latest sign of China's diplomatic support for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Beijing is advocating for a peaceful resolution to the situation.
