Israeli officials announced on Tuesday that Palestinian militant groups returned the body of a Thai agricultural worker held hostage in Gaza.
The remains belong to Suthisak Rintalak. Israeli authorities stated that Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, two major militant groups in Gaza, recovered his body in the northern part of the territory.
Suthisak Rintalak was among approximately 250 people taken hostage during the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7. His death was previously confirmed.
The recovery marks a somber development in ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure the release of all remaining captives. Israel continues its military operation in Gaza, which it launched in response to the October attack.
