Nigeria's Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a new economic roadmap for 2026 through 2028. The plan, called the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), sets key financial targets for the government. The framework aims to generate 34.3 trillion naira (approximately $25 billion) in revenue for the federal government in 2026. This revenue target is a central part of the country's fiscal planning for the coming years. In a separate decision, the council also approved a $100 million loan facility. The funds will come from the African Development Bank and will support the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund. This program finances projects and businesses led by young Nigerians. The approvals signal the government's focus on boosting national income and investing in youth entrepreneurship. The MTEF will now guide the creation of future annual budgets.
