Hong Kong School Supports Students Displaced by Deadly Fire
Sixteen Hong Kong students have received emergency aid after a fire destroyed their homes. The students attend Wong Shiu Chi Secondary School, which is located opposite the site of the deadly blaze in Tai Po. Principal Cheng Sze-wang confirmed the school provided financial support, new textbooks, and uniforms. The affected students are now staying temporarily with relatives or in other local homes. The school has also offered counseling services to those in need. To reduce pressure, it has postponed all dictations and assessments for the displaced students. The fire broke out in a residential building near the school. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the blaze.
