Hong Kong Lawyer Sentenced for Sex Crimes Against 12-Year-Old

A Hong Kong lawyer has been sentenced to three years and seven months in prison for sexual acts with a 12-year-old girl. Kelvin Luk Kin-ting, 40, was also convicted of recording the illegal encounters in over 200 photos and videos.
On Thursday, the District Court rejected Luk’s defense that he was in a loving relationship with the child. Deputy Judge Katherine Lo Kit-yee ruled he had instead exploited the girl’s youth and curiosity for his own gratification.
Judge Lo stated she was dismayed that a legal professional had committed such crimes. The sentence reflects the court's condemnation of his actions.
