A drone dropped a grenade on a children’s football match in southern Colombia, killing a 10-year-old boy and wounding 12 other civilians. The attack, in the Cauca region in 2024, is the first known death from a weaponised drone in the country’s decades-long conflict. Civilians are now increasingly exposed as armed groups open a dangerous new front in the war.
