Türkiye Expands Green Industrial Zones to Boost Eco-Friendly Production

Türkiye has increased its number of certified Green Organized Industrial Zones (OIZs) to 27. This certification program promotes sustainable manufacturing and helps Turkish companies compete globally. The Ministry of Industry and Technology awards the "Green OIZ" certificate. To qualify, an industrial zone must meet strict standards in energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and pollution control. Officials state the certificate serves two main purposes. First, it ensures industrial areas comply with national and international environmental regulations. Second, it enhances the appeal of Turkish manufacturers to eco-conscious international buyers and investors. The expansion is part of a broader national green transformation initiative. The government aims to modernize industry, reduce environmental impact, and align with global sustainability trends.
