Israeli forces conducted an airstrike in Gaza, killing five Palestinians. The military stated the operation targeted a Hamas militant.
In a separate announcement, the Israeli army said it has identified the remains of a hostage held in Gaza. This leaves only one captive from the October 7th attacks whose fate is not publicly confirmed.
The strike appears to be part of ongoing retaliatory operations. Tensions in the region remain high following the conflict initiated by Hamas's attack on Israel last year.
