A senior Chinese official has called for greater technological innovation to drive development both within China and worldwide. Li Shulei, head of the Communist Party’s publicity department, made the remarks at a major international conference this week.
He stated that China will continue to pursue high-quality economic growth and further open its markets to the world. The comments came during the 2025 Understanding China Conference in Guangzhou.
The three-day forum, which concluded on Tuesday, centered on innovation as a key theme. It brought together approximately 800 participants to discuss global challenges and development strategies.
Officials emphasized that China is committed to contributing to international progress through these efforts. The conference serves as a platform for dialogue on shared economic and technological goals.
