A shipment of 3,000 metric tons of Ukrainian sunflower oil has arrived in Bangladesh for Rohingya refugees. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) will distribute the oil.
The donation is part of the "Grain from Ukraine" initiative. This program sends Ukrainian agricultural products to countries facing severe food crises.
The WFP stated the oil will help feed over 900,000 Rohingya people in camps in Cox’s Bazar. Many fled violence in Myanmar and rely on international aid.
Sunflower oil is a vital source of fats and nutrients. This shipment will support the refugees' nutritional needs for approximately one month.
