Eintracht Frankfurt's women's team has a clear plan to bring success back to the city. Under the guidance of sporting director Babett Peter, the club is now challenging the top teams in the Frauen-Bundesliga and aims for a return to the Champions League.
Frankfurt is a historic name in German women's football. The former club, 1. FFC Frankfurt, dominated the league for nearly a decade. They won the Frauen-Bundesliga seven times between 1999 and 2008, including five titles in six seasons. They also lifted four European trophies between 2002 and 2015.
For years, the best German players—and stars from abroad—played for Frankfurt. Then clubs like Wolfsburg and later Bayern Munich took control. Now, Eintracht Frankfurt is back near the top of the table, pushing to restore the city's glory days.
