Customs Officers Killed in Highway Attack in Northern Syria
Two Syrian customs officers died and two others sustained injuries in a shooting on a major highway. The attack targeted their patrol escorting a transit truck on the Aleppo-Damascus road. Unidentified assailants opened fire in the al-Zirbah area of southern Aleppo countryside. The incident occurred on December 4. Mazen Alloush, the Director of Relations at Syria's General Authority of Ports and Customs, confirmed the casualties. He made the statement in a social media post. The motive for the attack and the identity of the shooters remain unknown.
