Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has rejected claims that Chinese nationals were arbitrarily granted citizenship. He called the allegations “malicious slander” and fake news designed to stir public anger.
The minister said the accusations are irresponsible. He warned against using the issue for political gain, especially while the government focuses on helping citizens manage the global supply crisis.
Saifuddin added that he has already clarified the matter several times in parliament.
