The Pro Football Hall of Fame has named five finalists for its special categories. The list includes two of the most famous figures in modern NFL history: former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft.
The finalists are for the coach, contributor, and senior categories. Induction through these categories is separate from the main selection process for modern-era players.
Bill Belichick is a finalist as a coach. He won a record six Super Bowls as head coach of the Patriots. Robert Kraft is a finalist as a contributor. He has owned the Patriots for three decades, during which the team won six championships.
A special committee will review the finalists. The Hall of Fame will announce the class of 2025 in early August, ahead of the enshrinement ceremony next summer.
