Hong Kong's property management regulator will investigate potential misconduct linked to a fatal residential fire. The blaze at Wang Fuk Court claimed 159 lives.
The Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) responded to media inquiries on Wednesday. It stated that licensed managers must promptly address any building safety issues. This duty is part of the official Code of Conduct.
The statement follows comments from the estate manager, ISS Property Management Limited. ISS described its role at Wang Fuk Court as mainly administrative. The firm said it focused on daily security and support services.
The PMSA vowed to rigorously follow up on any suspected breaches of its rules. It did not name ISS directly in its latest response.
