Syrian security forces have arrested three suspected ISIS members in an operation near the capital, Damascus. The Interior Ministry announced the arrests on Wednesday.
Forces from the Damascus Countryside security unit and the national General Intelligence Directorate targeted a suspected ISIS hideout. The raid took place in the town of Kanaker.
Brigadier General Ahmad al-Dalati, the Internal Security Commander for Damascus Countryside, stated the operation followed prior intelligence work. The announcement was made via the Interior Ministry's official Telegram channel.
The operation underscores ongoing security efforts to dismantle militant networks within Syria. ISIS, a designated terrorist organization, previously controlled large territories in the country.
