Across Africa and the wider world, migration is now a major issue. People move because of war, job shortages, economic injustice, political unrest, climate change, and the simple wish for a better life.
This movement is not new. But the anger around it is growing more dangerous. Recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa are a harsh reminder: violence against foreign nationals is never acceptable. It is both morally and legally wrong.
The problem is clear. Africa needs a long-term, stable plan for migration. Without it, tensions will keep rising.
